What We Do

OUR CALLING

We don't minister from a distance. We go back into the places God brought us out of.

Voice in the Wilderness Outreach Ministries was born from lives radically changed by Jesus Christ.
Some of us know what addiction looks like. We know the streets. We know incarceration, brokenness, rebellion, and what it means to run from God. We also know what happens when Jesus meets someone in the middle of it.
Our founder's journey began as an atheist who had no intention of becoming a minister. After a near-death experience in January 2023, followed by months of paralysis and an unexpected encounter with Jesus Christ, everything changed. What began as anger, questions, and wrestling with God became a calling. After experiencing physical recovery, she committed her life to taking the Gospel back into the very kinds of places she once knew from the other side.
And that remains the heartbeat of this ministry.

We go back.

Back to the streets.
Back to the trap houses.
Into prisons and jails.
Into rehabilitation and recovery centers.
Onto the radio and digital airwaves.
Into the highways and byways.

Anywhere there are people who believe they have gone too far for God to reach them.

We aren't interested in simply telling people to “come to church.” We want to bring the Church to them.
Our mission is to proclaim Jesus Christ, distribute the Word of God, share testimonies of transformation, disciple those searching for truth, and equip ordinary people to become voices in their own wilderness.

We believe the people God pulls from the fire can become some of the very people He sends back toward it, not to be consumed again, but to help pull somebody else out.

We are building bridges between the broken and the Body of Christ. Between the streets and the sanctuary. Between addiction and freedom. Between hopelessness and purpose.
And ultimately, every bridge points in one direction:
Jesus.
We believe there is urgency to the Gospel. There are still prisoners who need hope, addicts who need freedom, families who need restoration, skeptics who need answers, and people sitting in darkness who don't yet realize that God is calling their name.
So we're preparing the way.
We're raising our voices.
And we're inviting others to come shout with us.

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”
Isaiah 40:3

WHERE FAITH GETS TO WORK

  • Putting Bibles into the hands of people who need the Word.

  • Taking the Gospel into prisons, recovery centers, and places often overlooked.

  • Reaching beyond Sunday morning through radio, podcasting, and digital ministry.

  • Serving our communities through practical outreach, prayer, and evangelism.

  • Going into the highways and byways to reach people right where they are.

  • Building relationships with churches, ministries, and community partners.

  • Preparing to expand outreach throughout Louisiana, the Ark-La-Tex, and wherever God opens the door.

  • Making disciples, sharing testimonies, and reminding people that Jesus still changes lives.
